For 20 years, we’ve helped communities create renewable energy projects, retrofit homes, and build a low-carbon future. We can help you turn great ideas into real projects.
Community Energy

We help communities own and benefit from their energy. Right now we’re supporting development of a 500kW solar farm in a former limestone quarry for Weardale Renewables, and a 2.5MW solar scheme for Lymm Community Energy. We help with the technical bits – business models, governance structures, financial modelling, and community share offers – so communities can focus on the vision and engaging their communities.
Buildings and retrofit

Making homes warmer and cheaper to run, especially in the notoriously tricky Private Rented Sector. Through our Retrofit for Lets and Let Zero services, we’ve conducted 83 in-depth retrofit assessments and supported landlords to install measures from solar PV to insulation. Through Let Zero we’re developing the first on-stop-shop specifically for the Private Rented Sector.
Finance
Net zero needs financing.
We have proven sustainable finance experience and a wide international network that give us insights into multiple sectors and instruments.
We use these to remove barriers to financing and contribute to development of new approaches.
This enables greater mobilisation of capital into local net zero transition plans.
Members of the Leapfrog team are trained Community Share Practitioners, supporting communities to finance their local low carbon and nature-based projects.
Finance
Our expertise in carbon markets covers understanding how carbon projects are structured, financed, and certified to meet international standards.
We’re actively involved in developing new standards for next-generation projects and work on ‘insetting’ (where companies reduce emissions within their own operations and supply chains) plus helping organisations tackle indirect emissions from suppliers and partners.
Our cross-sector approach connects our work in other areas—like community energy or sustainable finance—back to carbon reduction. We help existing investors decarbonise their portfolios whilst creating new opportunities for responsible investment that delivers both financial returns and positive environmental impact.
Nature
We are part of a growing group of organisations engaging with nature as part of the climate solution.
Adaptations, soil carbon, responsible biomass production, and renewables generation are all additional pressures on land. These need to be balanced with issues of food production & security and biodiversity.
We work with partners to better understand these intersections and develop tools and business models to ensure increasingly sustainable approaches to land use are taken in the future.

Diocesan Community Energy Model
Church of England land and buildings have enormous untapped potential for community energy. We’re working with the Diocese of Bath & Wells to develop a practical model to unlock it.

Energy Advice for Mortgage Prisoners
Mortgage Prisoners face some of the highest housing costs in the UK and are often pushed into fuel poverty. Working with UK Mortgage Prisoners, we are creating a sensitive, trusted national energy advice service designed specifically for this excluded community.
